Ride For It: Ride For Something That Matters
Ride For It is a virtual summer training challenge and fundraiser to benefit TWLOHA (To Write Love On Her Arms) "a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide." Through this campaign, our goal is to spread awareness about the support systems that exist for those who struggle and battle with issues surrounding mental health, as well as raise funds for TWLOHA so that they can continue to "educate communities, provide hope and encouragement, and connect people to the help they deserve." Participants receive training and fundraising goals, challenge incentives, and chances to win giveaways/prizes/swag. The focus is on personal goals and achievements rather than competition, but many participants challenge their friends, family members, and teammates to join the fun. The idea is to just get out and ride your bike no matter how far or how long.
This year, we had 35 challenge participants and almost 500 raffle entrants! Our Ride For It x HiFi Wheel Giveaway ran through September (National Suicide Prevention Month). Thanks to the many participants, contributors, and supporters we raised over $5,500 for TWLOHA.
