Ride Dirty Training Day
We will have off-road (cyclocross, gravel, mountain bike) skills & drills sessions in the morning followed by mixed-surface group rides in the afternoon (gravel & mtb). Lunch will be provided at an additional $10 fee or bring your own.
This event is open to ALL riders (over age 16) but will focus on beginner and intermediate skills: dismounting/remounting, cornering, descending, handling, obstacles & barriers, basic bike maintenance & repair, and bike safety. We will have multiple skills session options that participants can choose from in the morning led by licensed coaches and special guests (For example: You can do 2 cyclocross and 1 mtb sessions or 1 gravel, 1 cyclocross, and 1 mtb session so bring all the bikes!). In the afternoon, we will have gravel & mtb group ride options (based on ability level) with our coaches, guests, and ride leaders.
A portion of your registration fee will be donated to the Merle Thorpe, Jr. Charitable Trust (MTCT), owner of ThorpeWood, LLC. "MTCT’s mission is to serve our local and regional non-profit community by offering our property for exploring and recreation and our facilities for meetings, retreats, and Equine Assisted Learning opportunities" (thorpewood.org). You can also choose to make an added donation to our local trail-building advocacy club, MORE (Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts) during registration.
We couldn't have put on these events without the help of our awesome sponsors! We only accept sponsors from companies we love working with on and off the bike. Ask us about any of them and we'll talk your ear off!
